How to Apply
PhD Professional: Gateway to Success in Frontier Asia is a five-year, doctoral program, designed to take students from admission through graduation. The Program is designed to provide additional competency training, while students receive regular education and research training at their respective Graduate Schools of their enrollment. The research capabilities of students must be recognized first and foremost by their respective Graduate Schools and they are expected to undertake the necessary education and training required by their Schools of their enrollment.
Students joining Nagoya University will be invited to apply for the Program; selection process will take place after April. Applicants will be required to enroll a relevant Graduate School and should acquire a certification for language skills, and be approved by potential research supervisors for participation to the Program. Students interested in the Program are advised to begin preparations as early as possible.
Student selection will be based on more than just outstanding academic performance (i.e., grades). Selection will also be based on applicants’ interest in different cultures and academic disciplines, their self-assertiveness, and the potential which the candidates demonstrate for being active leaders in a wide range of social contexts; as such, applicants will be required to submit essays and attend interviews. Further details, including Application Guidelines, will be made available on the Program website.
